The Studio

One studio, from first sketch to final planting.

We are a garden design and build studio working across Norwood and the South East. Every commission is drawn, built and planted by our own team: survey and concept, hard landscaping, planting, and the care that follows.

One point of contact, nothing subcontracted, from the first site visit onwards.

Where we work

Designing in Norwood.

Norwood runs across the hills of south London, from Upper Norwood's high streets to the leafier stretches of West Norwood, and its gardens are as varied as its slopes. Many are Victorian plots with real level changes, where terracing and considered structure make the difference between an awkward garden and a beautiful one.

We design for these sites with drainage and structure first, then planting that holds a bank, softens a boundary and gives a full season of interest. The clay here is workable, and rewards generous borders and the clipped forms that carry a garden through winter.

How we work

From first conversation to a garden kept.

01

The Enquiry

An unhurried visit to walk the plot together, and an honest conversation about whether we are the right studio for your garden.

02

The Design

Concept directions, then a full scheme: layout, materials, levels, lighting and a planting plan drawn species by species. You sign off every detail.

03

The Build

Led by our own foreman and trades we've worked with for a decade. Weekly progress reports, one point of contact, nothing subcontracted out.

04

The Care

A garden reaches its best years after planting. Our own gardeners maintain many of our designs, pruning to intent and editing borders as they mature.

Common questions

Garden design in Norwood.

Which parts of Norwood do you cover?

We design and build across Norwood and SE19, SE27, including Upper Norwood, West Norwood, South Norwood, Gipsy Hill and the streets around them.

Do you handle sloping or awkward plots in Norwood?

Yes, it is much of what we do here. Terracing, retaining and considered structure turn a difficult gradient into a garden that works at every level.

Do you both design and build the garden?

Yes. Every commission is designed, built and planted by our own employed team, with one point of contact from the first visit onwards. Nothing is subcontracted out.

Do you look after the garden once it is built?

Yes. Our own gardeners maintain many of the gardens we design, frequently the same team who were on site during the build, so the planting is cared for as it was intended. Explore garden maintenance
