Design brief & vision
The brief was to create a space that felt worlds away from London: lush, green, and deeply atmospheric. The vision centred on building a garden that embraced tropical planting, natural materials, and calming spaces for rest, while maintaining a contemporary edge.
Key features
At the heart of the design is a bespoke composite decking area, which provides a platform for seating and relaxation. Above it, an eye-catching canopy structure offers shade and shelter, enhancing the feeling of escape. The pathways and seating areas are submerged within the planting, making visitors feel enclosed by nature. This creates an immersive experience, each step drawing you deeper into a lush, green world.
Planting scheme
The planting palette was inspired by the drama of the tropics. Broad-leaf evergreens bring bold texture and form, creating dense, layered foliage. Structural planting was chosen to provide year-round impact, while the mix of heights and shapes ensures the space feels wild, abundant, and full of energy. The result is a planting scheme that is both bold and tranquil, delivering a tropical atmosphere in the heart of London.

This once-ordinary garden has become a contemporary tropical retreat. Surrounded by bold planting, shaded by a bespoke canopy, and grounded in composite decking, it is a space designed for relaxation and escape.
