Willow Alexander is a garden design studio based in south-east London. We design, build, and care for gardens across London and the South East. Each commission is undertaken in full by the studio, from the first walk of the site to the seasons after handover.
Every garden is structural first, planted generously second. We believe the best gardens are made slowly, by people who know what they are doing. Every project is managed by the founder; every build crew is employed in-house, not subcontracted.
The studio has been commissioned on projects from Chelsea to the Kent Weald. Our best clients stay with us for decades, the design brief extending naturally into ongoing care through the Gardeners arm of the studio.

HOW IT WORKS
From enquiry to handover.
We respond to every enquiry within one working day. The first conversation is usually a phone call, occasionally a studio visit, sometimes a site visit. If it's not a fit, we say so.

Every garden begins with a structural framework, levels, paths, hedging, key views. Planting follows. Drawings, planting plans, and material schedules are developed through weekly studio visits.

Construction and planting by our own crews. Carpenters, groundworkers, planters, all employed and trained in our methods. Build takes 8 to 20 weeks typically.

We hand over a garden that's structurally complete and planted to mature gracefully. A walk-through with the client, a written maintenance brief for whoever tends it, and a year-one review the following spring, and, if you'd like, we stay on to care for it.
